This postcard has a black-and-white image of the all-female music group, The Sunshine Special. Each of the three women are wearing a different cotton print square dance dress with puffed sleeves. They each have their hair fastened back with a large bow. They autographed the postcard with their stage names. Virginia Sutton is holding a banjo in a playing position. She performed as “Ginny.” Wanda Arnold Martin has her fiddle tucked under her right arm and her bow hooked on her finger. She performed as “Linda Lou.” Berniece Scott is holding a guitar in a playing position. Her stage name is “Mary Lou.” The Sunshine Special played live on-air during the morning shows on WIBC and at the Brown County Jamboree and WIBC Jamboree. |
