This 1886 image shows the Harkless Tin Smith Shop in Syracuse with left to right: Charles Smith, Sheldon Harkless, Jim Lewis, Mrs. J.A. Harkless, Sam Snavely, Mabel Brady, Harry Howard, Ada Brady, Winnie Holloway, May Holloway, and A.M. Jones, father of Jim Jones. According to family, the tin shop sat on a north-south alley on E. Main St.; structure was later moved to become part of Harkless Garage (towards lake from their house on the hill); others place it on the south side of W. Main St. near the west end of the business district. |
