Ice house on Medusa Street, Syracuse

Description: This image shows the ice house operated by the Disher family on Medusa Street around 1933-37 in Syracuse, Indiana. Each large block of ice was placed in sawdust from the nearby Wilt factory (made small wooden novelties) to preserve it until summer.
