This is an image of the March 23, 1960 Syracuse Fire Department building fire. On March 23, 1960, the Syracuse Fire Department building, with all its equipment, was totally destroyed by fire. Shown in the photo are Nelson Auer and Donald Pee WeeNiles attempting to remove some equipment from the burning structure. Inset (top right) shows the fire department builing prior to the fire and the adjacent Hoopingarner house on West Main Street. |
