Description: Correspondence, speeches, and other documents sent to and from Will H. Hays during the 1920s. Born in Sullivan, Indiana in 1879, Hays served as chairman of the Republican National Committee (February 1918-June 1921); manager of Warren G. Hardings presidential campaign (1920); U.S. postmaster general (March 1921-March 1922); and president of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America (MPPDA) (1922-1945). The contents reflect some of Hays personal and professional affiliations and interests. This folder also includes, but is not limited to, references to the following: American Tract Society for United States and Mexico; applications for employment; Connecticut; Claris Adams; contribution requests for organizations such as James Whitcomb Riley Memorial Hospital for Children and Joseph Levenson; controversy regarding Chase Osborns article in Reminiscences of Theodore Roosevelt; and invitation for Hays participation as member on the National Woodrow Wilson Memorial Association Honorary Committee.
