Crowd gathered near Main and Tyler Streets, Elkhart, Indiana. This is the view of Main Street, looking south from Harrison Street. Monument shown is the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, erected by Silas Baldwin in 1889 in memory of his son Frank and in honor of those who fought and fell in the Civil War. First placed on Main St., Elkhart, moved in 1928 to the entrance of Rice Cemetery. |
