Avery Brown, Drummer Boy of the Cumberland.

Description: Full length photograph of a young boy identified as Avery Brown. He is wearing a dark suit with a white collar showing and military cap. There is a white sash around his neck to hold a drum. He is holding drum sticks in his hands. The professionally typed note at the bottom identifies the print as Drummer Boy of the Cumberland. It goes on to say The youngest enlisted Union Soldier of the Rebellion. Born at Delphos, Allen County, Ohio, September 28, 1852. Mustered into the U.S. service at Camp Chase, Columbus, Ohio, August 18th, 1861, in Co. C. 31st, O.V.I. 1st Brigade, 3rd Division, 14th Army Corps.
