Sears Leather Goods Store

Description: Interior of Sears Leather Goods Store, located at Main and Lexington Streets, Elkhart, Indiana. Business was established about 1910 by members of Sears family, and closed in 1971. Pictured in photo is interior of shop. On reverse side of photo, Earl Sears, Jr., wrote: Nov. 1970. Sears Leather Shop. 200 South Main St. Nov. 1970. During this period after my fathers death is the first time I decorated and arranged store. This was just before last Christmas in store. In 1971, I sold out remaining stock and sold store building.
