American Coating Mills construction

Description: American Coating Mills (later known as Continental Can Company and then Federal Paper Board Company). Construction and remodeling. Photo shows workers finishing concrete driveway near railroad tracks, along the river. October 1, 1947. In a City Directory of the 1930s, the business is described as being a manufacturer of coated cardboard, boxboard and papers for lithographers, printers and boxboard makers. Office and plant were located at end of Division Street. In the 1940s, per a City Directory, office and plant were located at end of Division Street, with an additional folding cartons plant located at 210 Foundry Street in Elkhart.
