Twenty-seven men in uniform are standing on the steps of a building believed to be the Elkhart County Court House. In the background are small groups of young boys. A paper with the photograph has a note,Uniform Rank Knights of Phythias (sic) on Memorial Day 1899 and a numbered list of names that match the numbers that have been written on men in the photograph. A note on the back of the paper Calanthe Division U.R.K.P. Deahls Elkhart County History page 305 and 307 lists the Calanthe Division as being from Goshen.
