A letter to Reverend Augustine Martin who is traveling to France, telling of problems between Father Corbe and Bishop de la Hailandière, the signing of an Act to placate the Bishop, a contract to enlarge the school, and the Bishop’s wish for Mother Theodore to leave Indiana. Mother Theodore also relates news about the Holy Cross brothers, Father Delaune, and the seminary at Vincennes. Dated July 3, 1846. |
