A letter to Mother St. Charles Jolle rejoicing in receiving a letter after a silence of seven years. Mother Theodore praises Bishop de la Palais and Father Corbe and says they have twenty-one choir sisters, six lay sisters, six novices and fourteen postulants. She reports on the conditions in their establishments in Vincennes, Jasper, Madison, Fort Wayne, Terre Haute, and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, and their temporal affairs. Dated June 1, 1849. |
