Grace Julian Clarke scrapbook, 1881

Description: A scrapbook created by Grace Julian Clarke, an activist for womens suffrage during the late 19th century. The volume contains newspaper clippings regarding womens rights and suffrage, as well as their social and club activities. Subjects of note include the trial of a Mary Brown who was accused of murdering her husband, one about the annual business meeting of the Indianapolis Benevolent Society, and a published letter from Florence Nightingale.
