Description: A letter from author Gene Stratton-Porter to a Mr. Johannsen regarding an autograph he requested and her best book, according to the author, The Fire Bird (1922). The first page shows the letterhead with elaborate illustrations of Gene Stratton-Porter Productions, her new movie production company, which produced 2 adaptations of her novels before her death: Michael OHalloran (1923) and A Girl of the Limberlost (1924). Stratton-Porter was dissatisfied with the previous film adaptations of her work, specifically Freckles (1917) from Paramount Pictures.
