Description: Looking southeast from the Boone County courthouse and showing most of the east half of the south side of the square. Farmers State Bank Building (now the Heflin Building) is at the left. Two smoke stacks in upper left are of the THI&E interurban power house. At extreme left and above bank building is bell tower of fire department. Water stand pipe is near upper center of photo. In background is the Centenary Methodist Episcopal Church. Between church and bank is a two story house that in its last years housed Ivory C. Tolles undertaking business. Next north a one story residence is shown on the site that would become the Montgomery Ward building.Storefronts on Main Street include the M. R.
