Crowd at interurban depot in Lebanon to welcome home the Lebanon High School 1912 state basketball championship team. Caption on back: 1912 L.H.S. Basketball Champions Welcomed / These two postal cards from Miss Grace neals estate. They were unidentified but I am postive they were taken of the crowd gathered in front of interurban station, intersection of S. Meridian and South streets, to welcome the L. H. S. State Basketball Champions at 8:22 A. M., Monday morning, March 18, 19812. The team however, left the car at the intersection of W. South and S. Lebanon Streets, to be paraded around the business area on a commandeered express wagon. Were met by high school band. then to high school auditorium for formal welcome and congratulations. Coach Claude Whitney; Prof. C. E. McClintock, Mgr; Richard Porter, Capt.; Okla Sicks, Ralph Goodwin, Lowell Dale, and Mike Purdue (Murl Purdue).Also on back, an address label for Ralph W. Stark. |
