Big Four Passenger Depot on South Lebanon Street, Lebanon

Description: Big Four passenger station, South Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Accomopanying caption: Big Four Passenger Station that once stood on South Lebanon St., (west side) and on north side of tracks. Site now occupied in 1965 by Boone Grain & Seed Co. This station was erected in 1862 and discontinued and probably torn down in 1902. From 1852 to 1862, the station for the Big Four was on the south side of the tracks and on the site later occupied by the Central Indiana (Midland) Railroad passenger station. Picture probably taken around 1900. Old station on south side of tracks may have been moved to north side in 1862 and then replaced by station pictured in 1867.
