Linger Inn

Description: Exterior of the Linger Inn at 841 Indianapolis Avenue. Caption on the back: Linger Inn Restaurant at <crossed out>851</crossed out> 840 Indpls Ave., (just north of present in 1970 Marathon Filling Station) built in 1924 by Noble Shelby for Clayton Sicks. sicks became part owner. sold in 1927 to Jerome Rader. After a year, sold to Dorothea & Ivan Smith. Shelby took it over - had Dacus Evans running it. Curt Silby got it in or about 1933. Ran 2 or 3 years - sold to Mrs. Blanche Parr - she had it on 5 year lease from Shelby. Ran it 3 years then built Club 52 around 1940, but paying last 2 years of lease as it stood empty. finally acquired by Al Biggerstaff and razed in 1946 / Club 52 about 1940Ralph W. Stark address stamp on back.
