Description: One of two diaries written by Franz "Frank" Xavier Zehringer, a young German-American cabinetmaker who immigrated to Indianapolis, Indiana when he was a small child. The diaries were intended to help improve his English. This one covers from February 8 to October 8, 1873, describing his daily activities, weather, social life, and courtship of his future wife, Johannah "Hanna" Reichert.
