This letter was written by Captain D. Morris to his friend Frank A. Olds while he was stationed near Marietta, Georgia, with Company C of the 63rd Indiana Infantry Regiment. He thanks Olds for sending things to him and William (Billy) Olds and requests for more items to be sent. He also describes in detail the marching his soldiers have done and its toll on them, the food rations they receive, his regiments actions and casualties during the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, news of Franks son William, and destruction of the local landscape. |
