William Faucett block at 104 East Main Street

Description: An early photo of the William Faucett block at 104 East Main Street, Plainfield, Indiana. A buggy is parked at the left of the building and a person leans against a tree in front. Two other people are seen in front, as well as a saddled horse and a buggy. The building was built in two stages, with the east half constructed as a home around 1864. The west (left) half was added as a store about 1870. Later the structure was used as the Commercial Hotel, the Hendrix Hotel, and the Van Buren Hotel. In 2022 it is the home of Headquarters Barbershop. Photo mounted on cardstock.
