Downtown Plainfield, Indiana, looking south at the buildings along US 40 (Main Street) near Mill Street. The 3 story building at 201 West Main Street is the former Keely Institute/Hamlet House. There is a gun shop at 205 West Main Street. Part of the fire station at 215 West Main Street is just visible. On the north side of the street at the gas station on the corner of Mill Street, gas was $1.29 per gallon. The top half of a red car is seen in the foreground of the photo. |
