Description: |
Postcard photograph of U.S. 40 (Main Street) in Plainfield looking west. The picture is taken from around East and Main Streets. The iron bridge over White Lick Creek is visible in the distance. The postcard is not dated, but the buildings that in the picture date it at about 1905-1907. Reagans Corner store (west corner of Main and South Vine) was re-built in brick in 1905. On the left in front of Reagans corner is a clock. There is a buggy visible on each side of the street and a horses head is just visible coming out from beside a building on the south side of the street. |
