Downtown Plainfield looking west at Vine and Main Streets

Description: This picture shows downtown Plainfield, Indiana looking west from near East Street. The South Vine Street corner store boasts Eat Here and also Furniture. In the middle of the intersection is a street level stoplight, which motorists must navigate around. Also, notice the electricity poles running parallel between the sidewalk and street. In the far distance (on the left), you can see the castle tower of the Knights of Pythias 3-story building and then the marquee for the Prewitt Theatre. On the right side are other downtown businesses. No date, but the cars would indicate somewhere in the 1920s.
