Description: |
Located at 125 West Main Street, Plainfield, Indiana, is the Masonic Building. 1915 the present lodge building was constructed. The cornerstone was laid by the Grand Master of Masons for the state of Indiana. Especially noteworthy is the building’s lodge room, which includes a domed roof with an “all-seeing eye,” one of only three Masonic temples in Indiana to feature this construction. Be sure to notice the building’s exterior decorative brickwork, all considered architecturally striking at the time of the lodge’s construction. Builtin 1915, the first floor of the building has been occupied by many businesses throughout the years, including the Morris Café and currently, Shirt Tales. |
