442. The Lighthouse Roadhouse, 1937

Description: This image shows the roadhouse with its neon sign in the shape of a lighthouse, attached to the central lighthouse tower of the building. The One story building spreads out on either side of the central entrance at the base of the lighthouse tower. On either side the building has three sets of windows and a unique roof facade. Waters are half way up the windows and fully surround the empty parking lots on either side. The Lighthouse was managed by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bauer of New Albany. Their daughter-in-law, Betty Bauer reported that people would go there especially for Mrs. Bauers fried chicken. No alcoholic beverages were served, but set ups were available if you wanted to bring your own.
