This three story Federalist style home has a Palladian style entrance / porch at both the front and side entrances. The back portion of the home is only two stories in heighth. It is located on a corner lot across from the JeffBoat. Daniel and Mary Howard built the home around 1870. Daniel was the brother of James Howard, head of the Howard Ship Yards and he was also a ship builder. In 1983, the Monica Apartments, as the building was named, had the following individuals as its residents: Bruce Tomlin, Terry Gilbert, Robert Watkins, and Grady A. Watkins. |
