129. River raft

Description: The image shows an example of a river raft, similar to the style of raft that would have been used to transport families from the east along the Ohio River. The logs are lashed together. At the rear of the boat are three oarsmen steering the craft. There are two sets of sails near the back. A smaller rowboat is pulled up on the raft, near it two individuals work on an open air stove. Large trunks are bound to the raft and a small cabin is located along one side. Washing hangs from a flagpole back to a mast. A large keg lays on its side by the cabin.
