Began in July 1870, under Allison and Yates, as a pro-Democratic newspaper. In March, 1883, paper was sold to William Waltman and Isaac Chafin, owners of the Democrat. The newly merged publication was called The Jacksonian Democrat. John Hester acquired the paper in May, 1883. Hester moved the operation to Spencer in Owen County by the year's end. Weekly |
