Citizens Bank

Description: The elderly Thomas Burns, heading Citizens bank, is in this photo taken about 1919 and preserved by Harry O. Dungan, 545 Charles Street, who became assistant cashier, and is at the adding machine, at right. Ed Martin, who would become president, is seated at the desk. Behind Harry Dungan is Herbert Zahn, father of William E. Zahn, 1402 Park Hill Drive. Herb was treasurer and had worked there for 25 years when the bank closed in 1933. Thomas Burns, the former homeless waif, retired as active bank head, in 1914, and died in 1920.
