Four band members and two baton twirlers with the worlds largest drum in front of Elliott Hall of Music at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Still in use, the Purdue Big Bass Drum is played by the universitys All-American Marching Band. Commissioned in 1921, the drum measures 3 meters tall on its carriage, which is required to transport it for home football games, parades, alumni rallies, and the Indy 500. |
