Harriette Bailey Conn

Description: Portrait of Harriette Bailey Conn, a lawyer, politician, and activist. She was a twice-elected state representative and an assistant city attorney for Indianapolis (1968-1970). Conn became the first woman and African American to serve as the Indiana public defender in 1970.
