(No. 108 E)The 83rd Division was activated August 15, 1942 at Camp Atterbury and deployed overseas April 6, 1944 during World War II. These troops first saw action on D-Day in Normandy, France and made their way to Germany and Central Europe before returning to the United States on March 26, 1946. |
