38th Infantry Division Band

Description: Group portrait of the 38th Infantry Division Band with their instruments during World War I. The band was organized on June 3, 1916 in the National Guard as Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Infantry at Indianapolis, Indiana. The group served at the Mexican border during 1916 and was redesignated as the Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 152nd Infantry, an element of the 38th Division, on October 1, 1917.
