Photograph showing ice covered wickets in their raised position of Dam No. 41 and the frozen Ohio River during the winter of 1936. The dam was between Louisville, Ky. and Clarksville, Ind. In the 1960s the wicket dam was replaced by a Z-shaped stationary concrete dam with upper and lower Tainter gates. Clarksville is in the baclground. The stone piers of the Pennsylvania Railroad Bridge are also visible. |
