Vertner recounts difficulties has encountered with collecting a debt owed him by Purcell and Claypoole. Vertner introduces Mr. Briggs, a courier authorized to collect the money owed by Purcell and Claypoole. In the letter to Henry Hurst, Vertner asks for all legal assistance for Briggs and to take any legal fees due from the recovered money. The envelope of the Hurst letter is covered with sums and practice handwriting. |
