Speeds Community Fair 1920 ribbon

Description: This ribbon is from the Speeds Community Fair of 1920 in Speed, Indiana. 1920 was the first year the fair was held. The ribbon came to this library from the Ohio History Connection who states Someone likely sent the ribbon to President Warren G. Harding at the White House. Warren G. Harding died in 1923. Upon the death of his wife Florence Kling Harding in 1924, the bulk of the couples possessions became the property of the Harding Memorial Association. In the 1960s and 1970s, the association transferred its collections and properties to the Ohio Historical Society. The ribbon was cataloged as part of P146, the Warren G. Harding Photograph Collection, but was removed from that collection during reprocessing.
