Description:	The US federal government began acquiring land in Charlestown, Indiana in 1940 to build an ammunition plant to supply the US military during World War II. This book is the record of the land acquisition for Hoosier Ordnance Plant. It contains names of the property owners, land evaluations, purchase prices, photographs of the property, status of when residents moved out, and Deed record information. The properties contained businesses, residences, farms, churches, and cemeteries. Indiana Ordnance Works (IOW) Plant 1 and Hoosier Ordnance Plant began production in 1941. In 1944, IOW Plant 2 construction began. After the end of WWII, the three plants were combined and renamed Indiana Arsenal. In 1963 it became Indiana Army Ammunition Plant (INAAP). This item is part of a larger collection of items from INAAP.
