Description: 12 photographs of various homes in the Pleasant Run area which is on the west side of Market Street in Charlestown, Indiana. This area was part of the urban renewal project in the 1960s. Houses were torn down. Much of the area became Greenway Park and government houses built.The sign in photo 1 reads: Pleasant Run urban renewal area Ind. R-31. A project of the city of Charlestown. Department of Redevelopment and the city of CharlestownThis urban renewal project is being undertaken with federal financial and under title I of the housing act of 1949, as amended, through the Urban Renewal Administrtion Housing and Home Finance Agency.These pictures belong to Susan Walker and were most likely taken by her father.
