Korean War Letter from Carl E. Amos to Jesse G. Dorsey 5 Oct 1951

Description: Carl was stationed at Cherry Point but left there to go on maneuvers in Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. The weather is beautiful. Sis, Marvin, Jess Richey, and Mary Alice visited Carl in Cherry Point before he left. Carl is on M.P. duty and drives a jeep around the island. He should be leaving Puerto Rico at the end of November. He received a letter from Bob Amos, who is in San Diego in the Navy. This letter is part of the Jesse G. Dorsey Korean War Correspondence collection. Dorsey was the Director of Recreation and Welfare and editor of the Speed-O-Meter newsletter for the Louisville Cement Company. Dorsey began sending monthly letters and the Speed-O-Meter to local service personnel during WWII. He continued this through the Korean War and for sometime afterwards.
