Recorders Office Pages, Clark County, Indiana Territory 1816

Description: These four pages are from the Recorders Office of Clark County, Indiana Territory dated between 9 May 1816 and 15 June 1816. This is just prior to Indiana becoming a state. At the time, the county seat was in Charlestown. Most of the entries are for land deeds. Three entries are deeds of emancipation from Thomas Posey to three people of colour who are then recorded as having deeds of indenture to Thomas Posey.
