South Shore Train

Description: Nicknamed The Little Train that Could, the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad has provided commuter and recreational transportation for the residents of Westchester Township since 1908. The original orange passenger cars were replaced in the early 1980s with new cars that helped to attract a growing number of commuter passengers in the 1990s. The South Shore is the only remaining electric inter-urban railroad in the United States.
