First Congregational Church (interior)

Description: The First Congregational Church was located at 300 W. Marion St., at the intersection with Third. The cornerstone was laid on April 19, 1906 and the construction was completed in 1907. It served until 1967 when the congregation determined that a larger church was needed to support the growth in membership. The building shown above was razed following an auction to clear pews, stained glass windows, and the sanctuary chandelier. The cornerstone of the present First Congregational Church was laid at the same site on June 16, 1984.
