St. Vincents Church (exterior)

The congregation of St. Vincents organized in 1868 and the cornerstone of the present church was laid on May 2, 1887, at 1108 S. Main Street (at the intersection with Prairie Street). The church still stands at that location, although it has undergone several remodeling projects. This photograph shows the exterior of the church as it was in 1976. The central panel on the tower would be replaced with a stained glass window in 1983. See also epl_photograph_a0034 and epl_photograph_a0035_01. |
