Description: |
Kwanzaa is an original African-American holiday created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, who wanted to teach African-Americans about their African heritage. The word Kwanzaa comes from a Swahili phrase “matunda ya kwanza” that means “first fruits”. The celebration begins December 26th through January 1st. This 1998 Father Kwanzaa figure is not only a decorative piece but a helpful reminder of African culture. |
