Description: |
Where can this helicopter fly? Made in Western Germany following World War II, this 1950s helicopter celebrates the newly created United Nations, an international organization formed in 1945 to promote peace, security, human rights and economic development. The flags around the base represent some of the countries who joined the United Nations. During the late 1940s and 1950s helicopters were used to rescue injured soldiers quickly for medical attention. Like the United Nations, people considered helicopters helpful and a good role model for children. |
