Gianni Versace was a fashion designer known for his over the top designs, unusual use of materials, and extravagant stage costumes. This silk day suit and matching shoes was a product of Versaces 1991 spring-summer line. The decorative motif for the fabric was inspired by Versaces love of Andy Warhols artwork. The fabric and the suit design merge Italian couture, the highest level of fashion design that is only affordable to the very wealthy, with American pop culture. |
