Mole

Description: This animal grows up to about 6.5 inches long. Its front feet are broader than its rear feet, and the palms turn outward. It has no external ears, and their tiny eyes are covered with a thin sheet of skin. Typical coloration is a silvery sheen, but in the North it is a slate color, and a more golden brown in the South and West. It prefers to live in moist, sandy loam, or lawns and golf courses. It avoids extremely dry soil. It is active at both day and night, scurrying through its underground burrows. It feeds on worms, insects and some vegetable matter.
