Tri-Motor Airlines toy airplane

Description: Can you imagine flying in an airplane with the windows open? This Tri-motor airplane is a toy copy of the late 1920s Ford Tri-motor airplane. At the time, it was the most popular passenger airplane. Flying lower than airplanes do today, the planes were not pressurized so windows could be opened. Tri-Motor Airlines was the first to use flight attendants, then called stewards or stewardesses. The plane flew about 100 to 200 miles, landed to refuel, and then continued flying. Some airlines like TWA, United and Eastern started using Ford Tri-motors. Tri-motor airplanes were used until 1937 when the larger DC-3 airplanes started flying.
