Grey fox

Description: The gray fox can usually be found in dens in natural cavities. These animals range in most of the Eastern half of the United States and Southwest in wooded & brushy habitats. The grey fox can sometimes be seen during the day, although they are primarily nocturnal. This is the only American canid with true climbing abilities and will often take refuge in trees. The grey fox is omnivorous feeding on rabbits, mice, birds, insects and plant material. Predators of the grey fox include domestic and feral dogs, bobcats and man.
